Where to start?! If you were the kind of person to frequent arcades in the early 90s, then there’s a good chance that you came across the awesome four-player beat-em-up that was the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game. Following in the footsteps of other greats, such as Golden Axe and Double Dragon, the TMNT game was a colourful side-scrolling action fest – that let you play with four cooperative players.
With the cartoon a huge part of every kid’s Saturday mornings, this arcade game was an absolute joy.
Fast forward thirty years or so, and a trailer for a new game called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge has hit YouTube. There’s an updated theme tune to get us all excited and then smooth gameplay that brings all the action and fun of that arcade super-hit to consoles today.
Play as Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo or Donatello once more, enjoying retro-goodness on a grand scale. There’s not much information available just yet from developers Tribute Games, except to say that it’ll be available on Steam and consoles sometime this year.
